I decided to take a picture of my older sister Salsabeel. I decided to photograph her because she is always very nice to me (aside from the typical sibling bullying :) ) and she's always there for me. She never fails to put me in a good mood, and I really think I was able to reflect her happiness and positivity in the photos. We decided to take these photos right outside our house. I decided to incorporate leaves in one of the photos because blue and orange are on opposite sides of the color wheel, so I thought that would help you focus on her, but I also used the rule of thirds so that the leaves pop too. When we were taking these pictures, we faced a couple of challenges. First of all, my jokes are terrible, therefore getting her to genuinely smile was very hard. Secondly, the lighting was a bit weird, so we had to keep moving to different places so that the light wasn't shining directly on her face. The final challenge was that me and my sister have completely different opinions on what a good photo is, and I wasn't allowed to use any photos of her without her permission, so it took us a while to take good photos. But overall, I really liked the way the photos turned out. I like how the colors complement each other, and I also like how her face is really just the center point of it all, which is especially important in a portrait.
